EDUCATION

Education

August 2015 - May 2019

DICKINSON COLLEGE BACHELOR OF ARTS
CLASSICAL STUDIES, ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES

Located in Carlisle, PA, I studied both Classical and Environmental Studies.  My majors form an unlikely pair but allowed me to create a framework to understand human society: the needs, the wants, the motivations, the behaviors, and the ways humans interact.  Classical Studies teaches the ideological roots of Western Civilization and tackles deep political and ethical questions that society has asked for over 2,000 years. On the other hand, Environmental Studies teaches a pragmatic approach: how humans historically interacted with the environment, what has worked, and what has not.

January 2018 - May 2018

ADVANCED STUDIES IN ENGLAND IN BATH, ENGLAND
LATIN TUTORIAL AT OXFORD UNIVERSITY, UK

During my second semester Junior year, I studied abroad in Bath England with the Advanced Studies England Program through Franklin and Marshall College. As part of this program, I took a Latin tutorial with Dr. Elizabeth Sawyer at Oxford University in which I read Vergil's Aeneid. Additionally, I self-developed a paper on Virgil's depiction of Aeneas's treatment of the environment and notions of miasma, i.e. pollution or moral stain, including religious pollution, which combined my two disciplines of classical studies and environmental studies.

August 2011 - May 2015

CRESTWOOD HIGH SCHOOL
HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA

Located in Mountain Top, PA, I graduated from Crestwood High School as class Valedictorian. During my senior year, I took courses at King's College in Wilkes, Barre, PA. Also, I conducted two years of independent Microbiology Research at Wilkes University with Dr. Ken Pidcock.
