RESEARCH

CARLISLE COMMUNITY RESILIENCY

In Fall 2016 and Spring 2017, I conducted research on Carlisle's community resiliency. The first semester my class used the City Resilience Index, created by Arup and supported by the Rockefeller Foundation to provide a resiliency benchmark for Carlisle. The second semester, I helped develop Carlisle specific resiliency indicators.

CLIMATE CHANGE AND LOCAL GOVERNMENTS: A CASE STUDY IN PA WATER MANAGEMENT AND PLANNING

During Fall 2018  and Spring 2019, I designed independent research on Local Governments and Climate Change. I asked the question, "Do local governments plan for Climate Change. If so, how? If not, why?" The question led to another question, "How does one measure adaptive measures of local governments?" The conclusion was that local governments are not planning for climate change but they are completing adaptive actions. My policy recommendation was to expand the Community Development Block Grant program to provide funding to local governments and consolidated planning process outline.
